Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference, General Decree Concerning the Register for Confirmations, January 1998.
In accordance with the prescriptions of c. 895, the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference hereby decrees that in view of the long-
established practice within its territory, a register of confirmation is to be kept in each parish rather than in a central register at the diocesan curia.
The Conference further decrees that in accordance with c. 535, §1, in addition to the registers of baptisms, of marriages and of deaths, there are to be in each parish of its territory, registers of confirmations, of the reception of converts, and (where applicable) of burials in the parish cemetery.
